Maybe it’s a matter of coffee not kicking in yet or just that I’m accustomed to reading and getting caught up rather than putting fingers to keys and writing at this time of morning.  Whatever the case creating readable text is being a challenge.  Be that as it may, I brought up the “Write Post” window and started typing so something is going to get posted.

Do you know someone that is retired and still has a job because they “need something to do”?  Disabled has a ring of not feeling well so I consider myself retired.  Still, I find myself busy and short of time without needing something to do.  For example today: two one half hours including driving for cardiac rehab, home before noon to meet someone, afternoon (and much longer me thinks) working on one project and if time permits shopping for materials to use with another project.  That’s not to mention the “Honey Do” list which never, ever in your wildest dreams get finished.

How do people get bored anyway?

This morning I feared a great booming voice would tell me to build a vessel and collect animals but rain stopped by noon creating air so heavy Read the rest of this entry »

No fair I say, rain shouldn’t start while we sleep. Thunder claps like huge mallets hitting monstrous tympani heads interrupted sleep all through the night. Even now, nearly 10 AM the rain keeps falling though thunderous subsonic notes have followed another path disappearing into the distance.

Though rain gear would keep me dry I have the excuse to now use my pickup. A new project is brewing though others remain unfinished (’tis the story of my life I fear) and accommodating needed bits and pieces will be much easier in the cage.

Enough slacking, time to challenge the day.

I recently took the risk of buying a couple of cheesey little MP3 players from someone selling on eBay. I’m planning on using them on the bike so the ipod isn’t put at risk out in the elements.  They arrived yesterday.  They are the type that require SD cards to store the MP3 data on.  So I’m spending this evening trying to find out approximately how many albums I can get on a 1 Gig card.  So far it is at something over 20 albums and the one being loaded now should about finish it up.

It’s a hot and muggy night following a day of the same.  Ah yes, summer in North Dakota.  It just doesn’t get any better!

Being what most consider retired has it’s good and bad. For example I spent the entire day until now (just before midnight and the beginning of a new day) under the impression it is the 13th. Not a big deal but it means I wrote the wrong date on the card at cardiac rehab, so if I remember it will be corrected Wednesday.

The low fuel light was on when I jumped on the bike today. It is a bit amazing to see a fill up on a motorcycle cost over $20. I would really like to be angry about the cost but that would mean blaming “big oil”, “corporate America”, “greed”, “environmentalist wackos”, “the political system” or “special interests”.

Special interests seem so easy to throw blame at until I realize my most special interest is myself.

Look where that’s gotten me!

OK, fine, go ahead, BLAME ME!

Let me know if that solves everything.
